Today, I had the pleasure of guiding two wonderful guests, Joy and Louie, originally from the Philippines. Both are dedicated educators—one currently teaching in Bali and the other based in Semarang, Indonesia.
A Seamless Beginning to a Refined Adventure
Their journey began in the early hours of the morning, with a private driver picking them up from their hotel at 02:00 AM. From there, they were comfortably transferred to our starting point at GOODDAYFROMBALI: Batur Volcano Trekking Guide, arriving promptly at 04:00 AM.
Upon arrival, I ensured every detail was thoughtfully prepared—setting the tone for a smooth, safe, and elevated trekking experience. After a brief introduction and safety briefing, we began our ascent under the serene blanket of the night sky.
A Journey of Discovery & Unexpected Moments
We progressed steadily, embracing a relaxed yet purposeful pace. Along the way, an unexpected and heartwarming moment occurred—they encountered one of their own students on the trail. It was a delightful surprise that added a unique personal touch to the journey.
At approximately 05:00 AM, we reached the first summit, where they witnessed the mystical sight of volcanic steam rising from the crater in the darkness—an awe-inspiring preview of what was to come.
Reaching the Summit & Indulging in a Premium Sunrise Experience
Continuing toward the highest peak, we arrived at 05:20 AM. As they took a moment to rest, I began preparing a carefully curated light breakfast. They were served warm lemon and ginger tea, a perfect companion to the crisp mountain air.
By 05:40 AM, breakfast was ready, allowing them to relax and fully immerse themselves in the tranquil pre-sunrise atmosphere.
At 06:10 AM, the horizon came alive as the sun gracefully rose above the landscape. The sunrise that morning was exceptionally beautiful—painting the sky with golden hues and offering a truly unforgettable visual experience. We captured several stunning photographs to preserve these precious moments.
Descent with Energy, Connection, and Joy
After enjoying the summit and exploring the volcanic crater, we began our descent at 06:37 AM. The journey down was just as enjoyable—we shared conversations, exchanged languages, and appreciated the surrounding natural beauty.
At one point, we even picked up the pace and ran part of the way down. Joy and Louie demonstrated excellent balance and confidence—truly impressive on the mountain terrain.
We arrived back at the parking area at approximately 07:20 AM, concluding the trek and preparing for their comfortable return to the hotel.
